Papa Rose....works??

Papa cleaning the toilet.
I have never seen this before in my life folks.
This is history in the making!

When I Get Bored.................

I looked into the light....

Actually I just got really bored.
My digital camera was just sitting there.
So I started snapping pictures.
Completely random.
It occupied my time for a good hour.
Plus loading them all into this blog,
taking the time to write little captions,
should take up another hour of my time.
So, boredom is flying out the window!!
Come enjoy with me or, if you're not in the mood, just click Next Blog like it shows up above.

I love Judy Garland.
Actually I just love Wizard of Oz because it's so creative and full of fantastic creatures.
I like thinking I have a big imagination.
Without one I wouldn't have taken some of these pictures.
Isn't she's pretty??

I had a garage sale last Saturday,
and again this Friday and Saturday.
This was supposed to go on the garage sale but I forgot it.
I'll have to remember for next week, otherwise I'll just end up throwing it out.
I'd rather not have to throw a lot of stuff away.

I don't know how this picture got taken.
It is objects sitting behind my computer, like behind the screen.
I was baffled by this photo because I couldn't figure out where it came from.
Ghost photographer? Wonder if he takes better pictures than me?

If you can't read, this says: 7-30-07 20 days,
which is how many days left in the USA.
Still a complete mess of emotion, mostly good though, so I'm not questioning it.

I love that scarf.
I love scarves in general.
I never wear them when they're actually necessary, but I still love them!

This bouquet was the one I had in my sisters wedding....6 years ago.
I can't throw anything away and mom hates me for it.

9 days till Megan and I end up in NYC.
This journal is intended just for those purposes.
I'm excited to write in it.
Don't worry, I know I'm a nerd!

This is my shoe.
Well, the detailing on it.
I like this shoe, but I hate shoes.
I'd rather be barefoot all the time.
But I wear this shoe.

This is my manga collection.
Manga is just Asian comics.
Most of these are in Chinese.
I'll probably buy more when I'm back in Taiwan.

I found this to be an odd combo.
Asian doll with bar-questioning tiara.
Does it work for you?

This is Marisa.
She's friends with Kelly.
I know a few Kelly's, but one is spelled Kelley.
Not sure if that counts with Barbie.

This is my designated reading corner.
I rarely read here.
I read in bed.
But that's the book I'm reading right now.
I don't think I can finish it in 20 days.
:S

I forgot what this one is.
Just random stuff.

This is a little dog I got at a McDonalds.
I want McDonalds, it's been awhile.
Too long.

I love Charlie Brown.
I hate Lucy though.
She's so mean and I really don't like her.
She tears people down to bring herself up and repeatedly pulls the football away so Charlie falls. I understand he should know better, but he's gullible and she's manipulative and convinces him that she's changed when she really hasn't, but he likes to believe the good in people and just can't seem to understand why she wants to continually hurt him.
It's very sad.

These are my stuffed animals.
The left half are all turtles.
The right half are not turtles.

I already told you I love Wizard of Oz.
But really...??
I LOVE this clock!
And it's not even just because of Wizard of Oz.
I never had a wall clock before...

This is a picture my sister drew when she was very little.
It shows (in order) Mom, Megan, Dad and a blob.
I think the blob is me.
It's causing psychological damage.
She thinks of me as a nameless blob.
But she was probably only 6 years old.
I think I can forgive her for it.

Pretty Gold Letters

It's an angel holding a book.
When I'm an angel I'll be carrying 3 books,
A backpack with 7 more,
and a messenger bag with 5 others.
At least I hope so.

This is the new light switch in the bathroom.
I broke the old one when I was a bit under the influence.
I almost electrocuted myself yesterday working on it.
Shut the breaker off before working with electrical wires!!
Grandpa came and replaced the switch.
But it's backwards.
It's bugging Dad, but I don't mind.
At least it's fixed.

I bought this video game over a month ago.
I've never played it.
I think I want to.
But I'm scared it'll be hard,
Then I'd die.
And that would be sad.

Emily left this at our house more than a week ago.
It's Vault, but the bottle's filled with water.
Every time she comes here she drinks from it.
But she doesn't take it home.

I like crossing things off.
Makes me feel productive.

Three pretty patterns:
Polka dots never go out of style!

This is a new bag I got.
I love the pattern.
But don't really like the bag.
I'll probably keep it.

I think this is pretty.
Most people disagree.
They just don't have good taste :D

Phone calls....and choices made.

Yesterday I was complaining about hanging out with people who's cell phone rings constantly....distracting from the whole "hanging out" theory altogether. But tonight while watching a movie with my mother, my cell phone rang...something that rarely happens, especially 11:30 at night. Who would be calling me?? Nobody ever calls me. I look at it: Unknown, I really hate that because then I don't know who to expect. I answer, and to my great surprise it's Mitch, the guy who runs Reach To Teach, the program that's helping me get to Taiwan. I had never spoken to him on the phone before, only through constant e-mails, so it was awesome to finally talk to him. He was just calling to check up on things. He apologized profusely for calling this late although it's tomorrow morning where he's at! We chatted a little bit, I told him I got my passport and visa in the mail yesterday and that things were falling into place despite my laziness.

We then started talking about schools, he's e-mailed me two offers and I hadn't really made a final decision yet. One school, Kojen, has the perfect locations because they are right in the city, but it is a chain school and I didn't really want the possibility of a stuck-up, professional, chain school right away and it is just a language school so I would be teaching a wide range of students from little to adult. The other school, Uncle Sam American School (USAS) is a private school run by a couple, so it has more of a welcoming, homey feeling and I would be teaching kindergarden/preschool children, most likely the same children everyday. I would also teach regular subjects like math and science including english, all taught in english. The one downside to this school is that it is outside the city. About 45 minutes according to what I can find. It's kind of like a suburb I think and very rural. After more research though and talking to Mitch I decided on USAS! I choose a school!! I don't think it will be that difficult to get into the city, especially since my weekends will be pretty free. And I think considering the small town I'm from, starting out in more of a rural area might be better for me anyways. So I'm happy with my choice, it just puts me closer to being there and I'm ready. I get hesitant at times and worry a bit, but overall I'm ready. This is what I want and I can't wait for it to happen!

Plus showing the schools website to mom, with some pictures:

Even if I'm not completely pleased with the location, faces like those can keep me smiling all day every day!!

Monkeys, Penguins, and Turtles...Oh My!!

I told Megan I wanted to go to the zoo before I leave the country because it had been awhile since I'd visited. She and Nick both had Monday off, so we took a trip down to Omaha :D Yay for big sisters!!

To normal people it's a trash can...but to us it's a photo opportunity!!

I liked the polar bears, one kept pacing back and forth watching the other just relax and swim.

The gorillas were crazy active while we were there, so we spent a lot of time watching them.

The baby climbed up the wall just to say hi to me and Megan!

This little guy was just having a ton of fun.

He didn't seem to happy to see us. I think it was because of Megan!!

PENGUINS!!!! My favorite!!!

I love the underwater world.

How could I say no to a turtle! I knew exactly where to look for them too.

Megan and I tried so hard to get some good pictures, even climbing all over the jungle!

It's a rabbit, well a jackrabbit, but it's so weird to look at with his skinny body and long legs.

We only spent the morning there, but we saw everything we wanted to see. It was tons of fun. And I bought a turtle stuffed animal in the gift shop (tradition for me!) and he's purple!! After the zoo we went to the Olive Garden for lunch, another place I hadn't been for awhile. The waiter was cute and we were all being silly so it was good. Overall a great day!!
